School trip - duration : 3 hours
As soon as you arrive in Verdun, go to the Verdun Tourist Office to pick up our guide who will accompany you on your coach to comment on one of the most important events of the 20th century: La Butte de Vauquois, One of the High site of the Argonne mine war.

Outdoor visit of the Butte de Vauquois, symbol of the extraordinary underground struggles that took place in Argonne, the mine warfare and best example of development of underground "life".
The guided tour provides an excellent understanding of the fighting that took place there : the hillock is cut in two by a succession of huge craters separating the German and French trenches.
About 8000 French and 6400 Germans died on this hill located west of Verdun and released by the Americans in September 1918.

Advice : for a pleasant visit, make sure you have shoes suitable for walking in the forest.
